Terms of Service
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms govern access to and use of Northstar. By creating an account, joining a workspace, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet the minimum age required in your location. Organisations are responsible for ensuring that their authorised users may use the service.
2. Accounts and workspace administration
You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding credentials, enabling available security controls, and activity performed through your account. Workspace owners and administrators control membership, roles, content access, and configuration. They must remove access promptly when a member leaves or no longer requires it.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Northstar to violate law, infringe rights, distribute malware, abuse authentication or rate limits, probe another workspace, harass others, upload unlawful material, or interfere with the service. You may not attempt to bypass Row Level Security, role restrictions, MFA requirements, or other technical controls.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant the operator a limited licence to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions required to submit the content.
5. Confidentiality and workspace responsibility
Northstar provides technical access controls, but each organisation remains responsible for classifying information, choosing appropriate members and roles, establishing retention rules, and deciding whether the service is suitable for sensitive or regulated information. Standard chat is server-readable and is not represented as end-to-end encrypted.
6. Third-party services
The service may rely on providers such as Supabase, hosting, email delivery, Cloudflare Turnstile, monitoring, and notification services. Their availability and processing practices may affect the service. Separate terms may apply to third-party integrations.
7. Availability, beta features, and changes
The service may change, experience interruptions, or contain beta functionality. We may modify or discontinue features, perform maintenance, or impose reasonable limits to protect reliability and security. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated through the service or another reasonable channel.
8. Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended or terminated for security risk, non-payment where applicable, unlawful use, material breach, or harm to the service or other users. Workspace owners may remove members. Workspace owners may export or permanently delete a workspace, and users may request account deletion. These actions may be subject to identity verification, ownership transfer, audit retention, backup cycles, and other legal or operational requirements described in the Privacy Notice.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, preservation of every item of data, or suitability for a particular regulated use. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, lost profits, or loss caused by unauthorised workspace configuration, compromised credentials, unsupported integrations, or use contrary to documentation. Any mandatory liability remains unaffected.
11. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Malaysia, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Contact mjtan091123@gmail.com with legal or account questions.
